Teachers without Borders

There are major challenges in recruiting preschool teachers and primary school teachers to work in Trøndelag and Jämtland, a region that is often referred to as the Nordic Green Belt (NGB). The region is also struggling with a decline in applications for teacher training courses, which creates problems for the municipalities, educational institutions and society in general. In addition, it is a problem that the recruitment basis is narrow, where, among other things, few men and people with a minority background do not choose teacher training. Today, the education sector in NGB lacks structured collaboration both among various teacher training programs and between municipalities.
